Green Curry

Submitted by wilhelmus

In between dozens and dozens of hair salons and cosmetic places, I found this little Thai restaurant on Santa Monica Boulevard. The food was fantastic. I can't remember if I ever had a Thai meal this good. The curry was rich and spicy, the vegetables well done but not overcooked.

Sometimes you get a candy with your bill. In this case, a little piece of ice cream. Nice touch.

Strawberry Pancakes

Submitted by wilhelmus

Somehow I expected pancakes on Rodeo Drive to be extraordinarily special. But they were you basic stack. The other patrons in the restaurant were very extraordinary though. I don't think I saw a single outfit under $500, I stood out like a sore thumb.
Skirt Steak Gyro

Submitted by davello

I always loved a good Gyro. In California I could always find a small specialty shop that made them, and they were usually pretty good. But this was special at Mykonos in Boca Raton FL. It's a Steak Gyro and it was the best one I ever had.

Breakfast Sandwich

Submitted by jt99

Tiny’s Café is a warm, friendly, funky spot where you could lose hours of your day just soaking up the welcoming environment, and hey, the food’s good too! This breakfast sandwich was made from grilled panini with scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese and ham. The orange juice, organic and my wife says the coffee was great.
Seafood Risotto

Submitted by jt99

Rivers Restaurant is just outside downtown Portland on the banks of the Willamette River. They say they’re casual elegant, but they lean on the elegant side with a modern stylish decor. I tried the seafood risotto complete with mussels, prawns and cod in a bed of saffron risotto. The meal was very good, but after picking out the good stuff there was a lot of risotto left behind.
Denny's Taco Salad

Submitted by jt99

Denny’s, an old faithful for reliable eats while on a road trip. As soon as I walked into this one I saw a poster for the taco salad and decided to let fate run its course (and who says point-of-sale advertising doesn’t work). Per Denny’s standard, this plate of food was huge, but to my pleasant surprise there was actually a salad involved. Lots of crisp lettuce with the right balance of warm beans and seasoned ground beef resting on a bed of taco chips. Not bad.
