Stuffed Pork Loin

Submitted by Finn

Don't come here if you're put off by tattoos, piercings, ironic t-shirts and hats, but that's the only reason you shouldn't come. Yes the Doug Fir is hipster run, and attracts a mostly hipster crowd, but the service is excellent, prices reasonable and food is fantastic. Three pork loins stuffed with cherries, apples, hazelnuts and goat cheese. The pork was tender, perfectly season and not too "goaty", as many goat-cheese dishes can be. My wife dove in and didn't stop until the plate was clean. I'd consider that a five-star meal.
Salad with Goat Cheese

This restaurants serves 'fusion' food, according to the menu. I would call the menu diverse, but that probably doesn't sound very cool. This salad tasted fine for a lunch. That big thing on top is a piece of grilled cheese.
Pesto Pizza

Submitted by Finn

Garlic, tomatoes, goat cheese, asiago, pine nuts and pesto. On paper it sounds great, in reality it was too oily and way too salty. Pesto I always find a bit salty, but it's manageable on its own. Throw in the goat and asiago cheeses, and it was overload. On their own each of those ingredients has a great salty tang. Together, well I couldn't finish my meal.
Beet Salad with Goat Cheese

Submitted by Finn

I usually don't order beets, but I'm glad I did tonight. Constructed like a stack of Lincoln Logs, this was delicious. The zing of goat cheese was nicely balanced with the sweetness of the orange, chive dressing. The beets were beets (already mentioned I'm not a fan), but the goat cheese was excellent - you could really taste the goat!
Grilled Veggie Paninni

I usually don't eat eggplant, but it was nice in this. With goat cheese and a salad. Decent lunch.
