Carpaccio di Bue Arrosto al Tonno

Submitted by pjbosc

This was the best carpaccio I have ever eaten - charred beef tenderloin served with frisée, wild arugula and "tonnata" sauce.
Cedar Mill Platter

Submitted by Finn

We started off our meal with cedar plank topped with smoked salmon, trout, pickled onions and cucumbers, herb cream cheese and crackers. Simple, but delicious, perfect start to our meal. Nice presentation too.

Jamaican Patties

Essentially a spicy meat turn-over. In South America these would be called empanadas. Doesn't make them any less tasty though. I found the pastry a little dry, but the filling (chicken) was very good. Although this site is about food not drinks, might I say the Mohitos here are excellent.
Flash Fried Calamari

Submitted by Finn

We had our doubts when we strolled into this place. It looked like a complete tourist trap, but it was the only licensed restaurant we could find, so on this day beer trumps taste. Wow, don't judge a book by its cover. This calamari was some of the best I'd ever tasted, and that's saying a lot. Battered and then pan instead of deep-fried. It was light, tender and less greasy - one of the few times I could really taste the calamari. And to think we almost didn't come here because of some chintzy patio umbrellas.
Sagar Se

Crab, prawn and scallop, mashed together, fried and served to you in ball-form. Great flavour, bit spicier would have been nice, but now I'm just being nit-picky.
Oysters

Small but flavourful. The accompanying pomegranate-shallot spread was delicious. My buddy Abdulla poured vodka and hot sauce over these first, made them even better.
Oysters on the Half Shell

An excellent start to dinner. A squirt of fresh lemon was all these needed. Delicious.
