Kobe beef hot dog & truffle french fries

Submitted by davidmead

$5 "kobe beef" hot dog and $4 french fries cooked in truffle oil with a tomato garlic aioli. Part of Fahrenheit's Happy Hour menu. Both of which were very good.
Spicy Fish Tacos

Submitted by davidmead

Spicy Fish tacos at the Nauti Mermaid. Great seafood on W6th in downtown Cleveland.
Super Turkey

Submitted by Finn

This deli is somewhat an institution in Montreal(and a bit of a tourist trap) but WFT, I'm a tourist. Double rye bread stuffed, and I mean stuffed, with tender smoked turkey; meat totally outweighed the veggies 3:1. Served with coleslaw, fries and complemented with a couple cold beers, it was a great lunch.
Tripple Decker Grilled Cheese

Submitted by Finn

(Not a typo, that's how triple is spelt on the menu). I think the waitress is feeling sorry for me. It's 2:00 am in downtown Toronto and I'm alone in her diner eating a grilled cheese. She gave me extra attention, rested her hand on my shoulder and basically kept me company the whole time. I wish the cook gave my sandwich the same amount of attention. The bread was soggy and the cheese not melted all the way through. Making things worse, the cheese itself was tasteless, and the fries were undercooked and pulpy. I left a decent tip anyways, because the waitress was so nice. I hope she doesn't share it with the cook.
Veggie Burger

Submitted by Finn

Last time I was here was two years ago. That day we were told service was slow because the cook was sick. Plausible excuse, it can happen anywhere. This time we were told the same thing; cook was sick, plus they weren't expecting to get such a rush of people. Rush of people? There were a full five other people in the place. And the cook was sick, again? I think that's just their code for "Crappy Service". After waiting over 40 minutes for my lunch it arrived dry, cold and uninspired. Okay so how inspired can a veggie burger be? At least inspired enough to taste good. Crappy service, crappy food - looks like we have a new leader of my Restaurants to Avoid list.
Veggie Wrap and Fries

Submitted by wilhelmus

A beautiful day in the Irish countryside. And this veggie wrap was a nice lunch for a long traveling day. The town basically consisted of 100 houses, 4 pubs and 2 restaurants.
Deep Fried Mushrooms and Fries

Submitted by wilhelmus

On our way from Dublin to Killarney, we stopped in the little town of Toomyvara. For fried food, this was very tasty. I didn't expect this at all in lamb-stew country.
Half Chicken Dinner

Submitted by Finn

Likely the closest thing I've ever had to real food at any airport, at least the chickens are roasted right on site (or they were fake chickens rotating on a spit for show - now that would be disappointing). This was pretty decent for franchised airport food, chicken was tender, juicy and fries not pulpy.Come to think about it this was one of the better meals I've had in a while. Not that I'll become a Swiss Chalet regular, but I was pleasantly surprised how good this was.
Veggie Burger

A burger doesn't always mean that it's served on a bun. And outside North America, it's usually some ragout filling. Delicious. The restaurant was more like a pub, right on the river Liffey near Temple Bar.
Grilled Cheese Sandwich

A nice drive through the Fraser Canyon in British Columbia, Canada. Passing through the tiny town of Boston Bar, we decided it was time for a bite. The diner that served me this meal was what one would expect. Huge, but empty. An older waitress, slightly grumpy, but kept the coffee coming. And cheese, grilled to perfection.
